postpartum rehab

Together, we'll focus on assessing postural changes, checking for muscular imbalances, evaluating diastasis recti, identifying signs of pelvic floor dysfunction, and addressing spinal restrictions. Individualized treatment plans aim to restore mom's functional abilities.

soft tissue therapy

The goal is to enhance blood flow, decrease muscle tension, promote better posture, increase range of motion and address dysfunction.

cupping therapy

A soft tissue therapy which uses suctioned cups to boost blood flow, aiding in cell repair, reducing muscle tension, and improving range of motion in fascia, tendons, and ligaments. The practitioner may keep them stationary or move them along the treatment area. Post-treatment, expect red circles or lines, indicating enhanced blood flow, not bruises, per Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

spinal manipulation

A controlled, high-velocity, low-force maneuver aims to promote healthy joint motion, reduce pain, and enhance range of motion. Trained professionals evaluate suitability for this treatment. The audible "cracking" noise is the release of gases from synovial joints due to pressure changes, including carbon dioxide, oxygen, and nitrogen, creating the characteristic sound.

instrument assisted stt

A mechanical approach to soft tissue treatment. Using a typically metal instrument, it glides over the skin to massage or scrape the underlying soft tissue structure. The objective is to reduce restrictions in ligaments, tendons, muscles, and fascia, promoting improved joint movement, pain reduction, and accelerated healing of injuries.

activator

A unique chiropractic tool designed for joint movement. Placed on a specific joint, the chiropractor squeezes it, producing a clicking sound. This mechanical device delivers a gentle impulse through the joint, promoting motion and reducing restrictions. I utilize the activator in my practice for patients who may not be suitable for Spinal Manipulation Therapy (SMT) or for those who prefer an alternative method but require movement in a "stuck" joint.

custom orthodics

Orthotics, customized inserts for your shoes, are tailored specifically to your feet to address issues like feet, ankle, knee, and lower back pain, arch issues, Morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis, bunions etc.. During the orthotic appointment, I use an iPad to scan your feet or can use a foam casting mould to create impressions of your feet. Additionally, I conduct a gait analysis, assess range of motion, test sensation and reflexes, and check for joint restrictions, among other orthopedic tests. This ensures that your orthotics are perfectly suited to your specific needs.

laser therapy

A type of light therapy, accelerates tissue healing without causing discomfort to the patient. The application of light to a specific area promotes healing, reduces inflammation, and helps alleviate pain.

interferential current therapy

This involves transmitting electric impulses through sticky pads placed on the skin over the injured area. These targeted impulses, at a specific frequency, effectively reduce pain, inflammation, muscle spasms, and enhance functional mobility in restricted joints. The treatment is generally not painful; patients often describe the sensation from the sticky pads as "prickly."

ultrasound

A form of soft tissue therapy, enhances local blood flow, reduces pain, and accelerates healing time. Utilizing ultrasound waves that penetrate deep into the muscles, it induces localized heat. The patient may experience some warmth from the nozzle applying the waves, but the procedure is generally painless.

mps scar release therapy

Microcurrent point stimulation (MPS) uses two devices that pushes painless microcurrent from one device to the other to alter the charge of the skin. When applied through scar tissue it can release fascial restrictions, decrease pain associated with scar, improve their appearance and function, increase blood circulation and improve lymph movement. This is a great recovery option for my C-section mamas!
